Exciting news!

BHS digital program, What’s in the Box?, has been shortlisted in the 2024 Victorian Community History Awards.

These annual awards are sponsored by the Public Record Office Victoria and the Royal Historical Society of Victoria.

Thank you and congratulations to everyone involved in the creation, production and nomination of this program.

The announcement will be made at the Victorian Premier’s History Award and Community History Awards event on Monday 24 March 2025.

The Bendigo Historical Society has a collection that is of historic significance to the region.

It represents the unique story of Bendigo, whose gold-mining history had a widespread effect on the State and the Nation.

As the festive season approaches, Bendigo Historical Society will be taking a break to recharge and prepare for 2025.

History House and the Treasures Exhibition will be closed from 15 December 2024. We will reopen on Tuesday 4 February 2025.

We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our members, volunteers, donors and visitors for their assistance and support in 2024 .

We wish you a safe and joyful holiday season and look forward to welcoming you back to History House in 2025.
