Bendigo’s City Edge
Meet at the corner of Mundy Street and Mollison Street.
Join us as we explore the area surrounded by Mundy, Mollison, Mitchell and McLaren Streets. Listen to stories about some of the residents of this area, for example, McLaren Street resident Ernst Mueller and family. He came to Bendigo when it was no more than a diggers camp and grew to be one of its wealthiest citizens. Apart from being a successful gold trader and investor, Ernst brokered the sale of Lansell’s holdings to the Ballerstedt’s – the largest mining deal in Bendigo history.
Members $5.00. Non-members $10.00.

Friday 7 July, 2pm. La Trobe Art Institute
Members & Friends Event – all welcome
Topic: Contemporary Art’s Connections to History
Guest speaker: Bala Starr, Director, La Trobe Art Institute

Local history collections reflect on the people, places and events that are important to us. Like local history, contemporary art also strives to be part of a cultural dialogue that concerns larger contextual themes such as identity, family, community, and nationality.  Free event, no booking required.
